Dumb Nose

I have lots of nose issues.   They drive me nuts.   One of them is me getting a really nasty nose bleed once a twice a year.   Like, last forever,  give you a headache,  go thru lots of tissue,  kinds of bleeds.  I have been tempted,  once or twice,  to just shove a tampon up my nose.

Anyway,  today was one of those days.   Did I also mention that sometimes these happen with no warning? Yeah.

I went to the bathroom and while I was in there,  I blew my nose.   Between putting the first tissue in the toilet and reaching for some more,  my nose decided it wanted to do its best impression of an upside down old faithful.   Needless to say,  I did not get more tissue fast enough.   There was no way I could go back to my desk and continue working and pretend nothing happened.   On top of this,  the huz was in a meeting and he has the keys.   Oh joy.   So I sent a text to my boss and kidnapped a coworker and headed home to change my shirt.

My nose did not stop its efforts to drain my body of life-giving blood until almost halfway home.
Anyway,  I changed and went back and finished my day.   When I got home for good,  after getting some advice on cleanup,  it was time to tackle this:

With this

It does this (which I found cool!)
A quick rinse,  and voila.   Clean shirt!  Yay.

Now I know how to hide the evidence so my devious plan can commence!   Mwahahahaha!

Look What I Did!

I was in the bathroom the other night and looked over in the tub (cause I had nothing better to do...) and there was this big spider wondering around in there.  I'm not like most girls and don't get all riled up at little things that can be annihilated squashed so easily, I also knew it was a giant wolf spider and was harmless.  I decided to leave it be, figuring in would go down the drain or something since we're not using the tub at the moment (anyone know a plumber or are willing come help fix the shower?  No?  Oh well, worth a shot).

A little while later I hear the cat meowing very loudly from the bathroom, so I went in to see what she was on about (which is exactly what she wanted, I find myself at her beck and call all the time without meaning to be....), and found this:

She was totally proud of herself and had to show off, and started doing her, "look what I did!" act as soon as she saw me.

Good girl, but she could have eaten it or shoved it down the drain at least.
(Note to self: clean tub)

Family Campout

We went on our annual family camp out last weekend (I know, I know, I'm slow at getting it posted) and we all managed to go and come back in one piece.  Almost every year someone has either been sick, gotten hurt, or some one's car has broken down (or flipped, that was scary).  This year went smooth, yay!

My parents have reached a point in there lives where they need and deserve a nice room to stay in rather than a tent or camper.  Due to this we have to get creative about camping arrangements.  They still want to participate and all of us most definitely still want them to come, so to accommodate this, a place was picked with a hotel on site.  The pictures on their website were very nice, it sounded nice, it seemed like it would be great.  It wasn't.  It was an RV park and the pictures online must have been taken in the spring, years ago.

It was okay and it worked out in the end (the owners were a joke), we pitched our tents on the lawn, but there was no shade what-so-ever except what was brought along.  Three canopies went up over some picnic tables and we all huddled our camp chairs as best we could under and around it all to stay in the shade.  Thanks to the intermittent storms (not too much rain) and clouds tho, the temperature stayed tolerable for the most part.

We had to drive to the bathrooms and the stalls were so tiny you could touch the door in front of you without moving once you were seated and forget bending over to drop your drawers.  However, it was about 15 feet to the sinks from the stalls....really?  Another foot in the stalls would have taken away from the floor space too much?

Anyway, we made it work and I think, in the end, we all had fun and enjoyed ourselves.  Most everyone took off Saturday to go see the sights, but the huz, the sis, her man, her shorty, and I all stayed in camp.  We played in the river (if you want to see the fun, and my big butt, click here.  I don't have a water-proof camera) and played some games, napped, and visited and generally just enjoyed a relaxing day with no plans and no worries.  It was great.

Set up and Breakfast Saturday morning

Bubbles for the kids while we waited for breakfast to cook

I got my camera out again later in the day and caught shorty with her tongue out.  This gave me an idea and I decided to have some fun with the family.  I managed to get every one to do it too! (I did get good pics of smiles to go with the silliness)

This is the one that started it all!
She had to join in on our picture lol

I'm so glad we all enjoy our time together and we all get a long well enough to survive a weekend together once a year.  :)

Here are a bunch of random pics I took Saturday afternoon/evening.
I love the macro setting on my camera, I got some good detail.
Dad, he's outstanding in his field :)
Concentrating hard on his soda
This river was really fun to play in, it was just the perfect temperature
This old bunkhouse had some great textures
They didn't keep it up and now it's useless as a bunk house which is sad
It had lots of mud swallow nests up in the eves.
I thought they were empty until this gal poked her head out
Dad took all the grand kids over to show them the nests
She sure loves her uncle

Late in the evening on Saturday, another storm moved in, but mostly circled us as most of them had done all day, but this one came just as the sun was going down and rained in the distance right in front the setting sun.  This created such a beautiful sunset with the sun reflecting off the rain, that we all got pictures and couldn't stop watching.  It was amazing.  I don't think my pictures do it justice, but I did my best.
Facing East as the sun was beginning to set
Facing West as I realized how pretty it was going to be
East again
Look at that glow!
Do you see the dogs?
Everyone watching the sun set, visiting, and comparing pics
Every time the wind picked up, I would look around at all the other campers and their flimsy dome tents and watch them sway and flatten in the wind, and then look at ours and grin and think how much it was worth the cost to have a spring-bar.

We brought along our big telescope, but, sadly, it ended up overcast as it got dark both nights.  We were very disappointed.  We did get a really good look at the moon the first night before dark tho, so it wasn't a complete loss.

Can't wait until next year's family camp out.  I don't know if we'll get to go camping again this year or not.
